Kaimore has partnered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to present a valuable opportunity for qualified taxpayers. Through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, we offer complimentary, confidential, and secure preparation and e-filing of tax returns.

Provided to you by dedicated local volunteers, VITA is committed to assisting individuals and families with incomes under $63,398, non-English speaking taxpayers, those with disabilities, and individuals aged 60 and above in preparing and filing their income tax returns. Please see details below on finding a convenient VITA tax assistance location, scheduling an appointment, and accessing essential pre-appointment documents and a record checklist.

What to Bring to Your Appointment
Please bring the following items to the VITA site to make it easier to prepare your return:

All taxpayers must be present with Photo I.D.
-
Original Social Security Card or ITIN for everyone on the tax return
-
Complete home and/or cell phone bill.
-
W-2, 1099 forms for all income
-
Total Cash income
-
Documents for credits and deductions
-
Form 1095A for health insurance purchased through Covered CA
-
Bank account number for direct deposit
-
Previous year's tax return (not required, but is useful)

Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) issued by the IRS (If the IRS provided you an IP PIN)
-
Note: ITIN Renewals require valid photo identification and birth certificate OR a valid passport.
Returns VITA Volunteers Cannot Help With
-
Married Filing Separately returns (If you are legally married & file alone - you may be a Married Filing Separate taxpayer - this is out of scope and we will not be able to assist you).

Self-employed or cash income with more than $20,000 in expenses or have a loss.
-
Handwritten tax documents (W-2, 1099, 1098, etc).
-
Certain types of income, like Rental Income, Foreign Income, Royalty Income , Partnership or income from an LLC (Form K-1), or Cancelled debt income (Forms 1099C and 1099A) for foreclosures or short sales.

Returns for visitors, such as "F,""J,""M," or "Q" visas, that require a 1040NR tax return.

Forms 1095A from Covered CA with adults who are filing their own return.

Incomes more than $60,000.

How long will it take to receive my refund?
Paper checks mailed by the IRS can take several weeks to process.

Direct deposit into your checking or savings account is the fastest and easiest way to receive your refund. This way your money also stays safe in your account until you need it. Just remember to bring your account and routing number to your tax preparation appointment. You can choose to deposit all or part of your refund into a checking or savings account.
